The Democrats don't want to lose this "legacy seat." They want that 60th vote to shove through the health welfare/spongetherichbutnotinmystate bill.   The Democrats feel this bill is Ted Kennedy's legacy.

Shouldn't his legacy be flotation devices in moving vehicles? Since GM is government owned now, President Obama can surely make that happen.   Maybe he could put a surtax on millionaire Democrats - like Rep. Jane Harman (D-Calif.), worth about $244.7 million; Sen. Herb Kohl (D-Wis.), worth about $214.5 million; Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), worth about $209.7 million; and Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.), worth about $208.8 million. Take 40 percent of their worth- which combined is almost a billion dollars- and give that 300-400 million to GM to install the "Ted Kennedy Memorial Voter Floater". It's a device that inflates faster than a Kennedy defense team's media machine whenever a car gets driven into a lake. Of course, it only operates to save your ass if your dad is a kerbillionaire, but hey- it only one life gets saved, it's worth it, right? Especially if that life belongs to the priveliged- like Ted Kennedy.

I think he would be very proud of the health welfare bill. With all the under-the-table deals being made, with all the "do unto others but not unto me" power plays being acceded to, Ted would completely support the opportunity it represents.    See? All these democrats get to be the new Ted Kennedy.

And you and I get to be Mary Jane Kopechne.

That's 60 votes in favor of Chappaquidick. Legacy indeed.

Helping the Poor is Poor Help Unless They Help Themselves

We've got to help the poor, right? The poor poor. Pity the poor. Give to the poor. Help the poor. Why? Well...because they're poor. Who cares WHY they are, just that they are, right?

I say, wrong. Because you cannot help the poor.

I repeat: You Cannot Help the Poor.

They can, however, help themselves. Having been poor, here's what I did to stop being poor:

1. Provide employers a reason to hire you.   It might be just the muscles of your back and your willingness to use them.   So be it. You CAN find work. You may not find the work you dreamed of, but that's why it's called a dream. When you're awake, face yourself from an employer's point of view. Judge yourself. Evaluate yourself. Would YOU hire YOU, knowing your strengths, weaknesses, and attitude? Find a reason that employers would hire you. Then find those employers. Legal work is good work. What you want to do is not always what's available FOR you to do. So do what's AVAILABLE. It's such a "duh", but still people whine about not finding work. Perhaps it's not finding work YOU WANT.

2. Be creative in your search. Anyone can say "I can't." And they're always right when they say it, even though the usual translation is "I won't." But if you won't, you certainly can't, so you're still right. However, if you're a person who says "I will", here are some thoughts:
    a. Use library computers to job search.
    b. Don't approach a job application like it's an enemy. It's a chance. Use it. Want it. Because you NEED it.
    c. Go in with an attitude. And make sure it's a damn GOOD one. If you approach a possible employer in a pissy mood with your problems as your main tool of communication, they could care less. They have their own problem- finding somebody for a job. Be the solution of THEIR problem, then you can start fixing your own. Remember: your problem is NOT your employer's.
   d. If you can't find a job where you are, GET OUT OF THERE. Don't pigeon hole yourself with a single job/career track, or a single location.   Food doesn't come to you. You go to it. Go get that job, even if it means leaving a place where you're comfortable. Starving, or getting kicked out to the curb, is more uncomfortable than moving.

3. Don't buy what you can't afford. Don't rent what you can't afford. Learn to do without.   For the love of god, cable TV is NOT better than 40 - 100 dollars worth of groceries. Or utilities. Or rent. Learn to read a book- the library is FULL of them. And some of those books will help you to learn different skills. OH- if you're bored in the evening, GET A PART TIME JOB!   Boredom is easily cured by filling your hands with work.   Another "duh" moment. I've met great people by working with them- and I made money too. Crazy, huh? If you can't afford food and shelter, you sure as shit cannot afford a cel phone. Get real. And rent to own is for suckers.   Be creative within your own budget.

4.   How about creating your own job, huh? See a need? Create a way to fill the need, and see who's willing to pay for it.   Maybe a store has perpetual problems with it's trash containers being unkempt. Go to the store and offer a service of daily trash clean-up, since their employees are obviously not taking care of it. Go to the library, find the city codes on business cleanliness, help that store. That's off the top of my head. Maybe the apartment owner where you live needs help picking up trash in the parking lot/hallways, or pruning, or lighting, or whatever. Sure they have a maintenance "crew"- but if it's a consistent problem, maybe YOU can be the solution. For them, for the other apartment complexes around, etc. etc. C'mon- think! What can YOU do to be a solution for them that would make them want to give you money for THAT SOLUTION? I'm not talking

None of this stuff can be done by others. It has to be done by YOU. Being poor doesn't mean being helpless. It means making tough fiscal decisions, harder than non-poor people have to make, and dealing with YOUR situation rather than bitching about how it's not as good as someone else's.   You're right, it's not. SO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Oh- by the way, that "something" is not stealing from others. Not even by getting the government to do it for you.

Now, if you're unemployed because you hate work and it's all b.s. and you'd never get a good job anyway and it's all unfair and everyone is prejudiced against you and you'd make less money working rather then sucking off the government's teet and blah blah blah, or you're a drunk or a drug addict and work just gets in the way of your next binge/high...then I highly recommend the zero-cost habit of starving. And sleeping in the street. And all the pleasures you richly deserve as consequences of your choices.

Using Your Rules to Kill You

The fourth rule is: Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity."

We face a time of hard decisions:

1. Do we make prosperity an enemy, and define good only as what you give to those who have not earned it?
2. Do we allow religions that are antithetical to our country's freedom of religion to grow and become a power here?
3. Do you wish to control your life and your future, or do you want to hand over that control to someone else?

If you make being self-sufficient a crime, if you punish those who do well for themselves, than you fight the very force that drives people to succeed. You CREATE dependent masses instead of freeing them. You are a drug dealer, giving folks the cocaine-rush of "social justice"- which is nothing more than mob looting- and leaving them to starve as junkies until YOU decide they can have their next fix. Problem is, you have to rob from the rich to get that fix, and when you kill the rich...the junkies will rise up and kill you. And the sad part is, you're the junkie too.

If a religion says anyone who doesn't believe that religion must be subjugated in this world to the followers of that religion, then that religion is cancer. It will grow on the face of a society because it appeals to the powerless who, instead of empowering themselves, seek empowerment through subjugating others. They have already subjugated themselves to the will of their "leaders", and are ready to kill you if you do not agree with them. They are culture killers as well as people killers. That religion, and its followers, must be shunned, and must not be allowed to grow. It's a hard truth.   But you MUST choose to fight them, or accept their subjugation. That's called reality.

Socialists/Communists/Progressives talk about "the Worker." They act as if "the Worker" is owed everything. Strangely, they exclude higher-paid workers from their list of "Workers."   Executives are workers too. As are engineers. And physicists. And CEO's, CFO's, mid-level managers, night shift managers, even company owners.   Yes, owners have to work too, and if they don't currently- they did at one time to pay for the privelidge of inheritance by the recipients of that wealth. The companies that employ "the Worker?" Those sources of income are the worst of the lot, according to the Socialists/Communists/Progressives. See, the S/C/P's despise profit. Even though profit is what pays the workers, funds the stocks, and pays the pensions. The S/C/P gangsters hate it because the folks who run the companies, who design systems that create work for the masses, the ones who design the products workers make and the tools workers use, make more income than the Workers who fasten lug nuts onto a wheel, or put boxes on a conveyor belt. A person who creates the avenues through which money is made is valued more in a company that tries to make a profit. To the S/C/P gangsters , all work is equally valued, and ergo Henry Ford creating an automobile and an entire industry is of no more value than the guy who welded the radiator Henry Ford's engineer's designed. As for that value itself, the S/C/P Priests decide what it should be, not the workers. They, the powerful elite of the Socialist/Communist/Progressive dynasty, the "social engineers". They live by a different rule, on an alternate reality, because, well, they CREATE the rules and the "reality." You're just too stupid to understand it, oh mighty Worker.  So do you want control of your life and the value of the hours of your life, or do you wish to give it to the Government- a large group of people who you've most likely never met- because the Government knows what your life is worth much better than you do?   They think you're no better than the worst bum in society. What do YOU think you're worth?

Hard decisions to be made, and they'll be judged harshly in the future no matter what you do.  So the final analysis is, do you want everyone to have a claim on your life, or do you want your life to be yours to live? Either choice has repercussions, either choice means somebody won't get all they want. Which choice gives the individual the best ability to achieve THEIR personal desires. You know, "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?"

No one guarantees your happiness. But the Socialist/Communist/Progressive thugs will ensure that your happiness is only equal to what they decide it should be.

Make your choice. No matter what, you'll live, or die, from the consequences.

Aaaah yes, let the wheels of stupidity burn rubber.   As we watch the Liberal press gobble up every drop of Obama's love potion and spin his every step into some grand eloquent stride, as we who use our brain and not our tear glands to think end up turning the dial to get away from their Egor-esque adoration of their Master, Fox News stood for a more lucid, conservative viewpoint and a nice alternative to cooing and sighing over at NBC/ABC/CBS/YOUNAMEIT.

The Liberal press will ignore everything anti-socialist so that they can "Control The Message" - the Obama team's mandate for power- and ergo push forward their own agenda of tax tax tax, enabling self-destructive habits, and awarding the worst of us with what the best of us rightfully earned.   The Liberal Press pushes forward lies- like the 70's global cooling/90's global warming/2000's global climate change- to succor favor with the current Liberal lean.   As long as it's LIBERAL, they'll smear it on their foreheads and chant it in the streets.

Fox was a refreshing change from the unicorns-and-rainbows crowd. Until what I saw today.

Fox News says: "We Report, You Decide."   Really? Where's your report on talk-show host Sean Hannity's using false footage to puff-up the appearance of a rally's number of people?   Where's the interview on how he used footage from a rally two months ago to appear to be a crowd at a rally a few days ago? Why don't you report that and let us decide?

Oh- because he's on YOUR side. So you'll conveniently ignore his lie. Works for the Liberal Press and Obama, so why not you, right?

Of course, Mr. Hannity said it was just a plain old mistake, "inadvertant."   You Report, I'll Decide. Mr. Hannity, I'm deciding you're lying because you got caught. I'm deciding you chose to hook those video chunks together for a purpose, and because you were so keen on trying to puff up the piece you "inadvertantly" missed the change of seasons and weather conditions in the videos.   And the fact that other footage so similar it's almost identical ran on 9/12 on another Fox commentator's show.   The only thing "inadvertant" was your lack of eye to detail. Had nobody noticed, you wouldn't have said a thing. It's what people with an agenda do, right? Ignore their own shortcomings and point "over there."

Why Does the Progressive Party Get Support?

Let me share a conversation from a book:

"People don't want to think. The deeper they get into trouble, the less they want to think. But by some sort of instinct they feel that they ought to and this makes them feel guilty. So they'll bless and follow anyone who gives them a justification for not thinking. Anyone who makes a virtue, a highly intellectual virtue, out of what they know to be their sin, their weakness and their guilt."

"That is the road to popularity."

I added the red & blue for redstate/bluestate clarity. Here is how sloth, drug abuse, prostitution, unsupported birthing, and the whole entitlement group came to feel they were superior on a moral and intellectual base (ACORN, anyone?). The people who bought into this bile were fed lines like "Hope™" and "Change™" and "Yes We Can!™".

All meaningless, but don't they sound nice?

Hope is good, right? People need hope. Poets, politicians, and priests have said it for millenia. Sure- BUT HOPE OF WHAT? Do you hope you can get a job to support your family, OR do you hope some new government department will shovel money your way so you can make more babies and not pay for them? Do you hope you can live better, or do you hope the government will pay for your insurance so you can be as self-abusive and self-destructive as you want because somebody else is paying for the consequences? Hoping to be able to screw other people out of their earnings is a hope I hope you never achieve.

Change™...to WHAT?   Change™ from Bush era to the Chavez era? The Gorbachev era? The Stalin era?  Did the f-ing idiots who ate this slogan like Pavlov's dog everytime Obama rang the "Change™" bell ever, EVER really consider what the change was going INTO? From the USA to the USSA. From a freedom-loving country to a Socialist/Communist state.   Let's make sure the CHANGE™ is from you controlling your life, to the government doing it for you. From each according to their ability, to each according to their need. Steal from the capable to support the incapable. Change™ from rewarding industrious work and a strong work ethic to blessing thievery and the unwillingness to support oneself.  This the the Change™ progressives want- distributing the wealth the way a pursesnatcher distributes the contents of a woman's stolen wallet.

"Yes We Can!™"   Sounds strong, doesn't it? It has "We", so it's inclusive. "Yes", so it's positive. And "Can", so it implies action.   "Yes We Can!™"   Yup. CAN WHAT??? A mob can do a lot- loot a store, burn down a building, lynch a human, cause a neighborhood riot, blow up a bus/train/market/school...   "Yes We Can!™"   We can totally screw up this country by allowing freeloaders to destroy the self-motivation of the truly capable, the skilled.   "Yes We Can!™" is the hedonistic cattle call used by Obama to empower millions of leeches to crawl from their slime pits and invade the check books of hard-working citizens.   Every person who felt they deserved what other people have, the envious, the covetous, they got empowered. "Yes We Can!™" steal and say it's re-distributing the wealth, "Yes We Can!™" enslave and say it's for your own good that they put the yoke upon your shoulders.

There's one thing Obama didn't tell his followers to do: Think. Don't do that. Just listen, believe, repeat, Hope™ for Change™ because, as Hamas discovered in elections in Palestine, "Yes We Can!™" win when we appeal to the lowest common denominator and make them feel as if their self-inflicted status is all someone else's fault. And the beauty of it is, you don't have to think.   Obama and his teleprompter will do that for you.

That made him popular. It made him President. And it makes him and his devotees, the condescending morally-bankrupt thieves running the Democratic cabal, into a powerhouse of iniquity.

Am I bitter? You bet. And I hope that both parties suffer miserable losses in the upcoming elections. Conservative values- as in, I won't bug you, you don't bug me, we'll get along, will keep us from the nightmare that's our current adminstative juggernaut.

I hope. I just don't expect. Because the one think progressives, and the guilty, don't want to do is Think.

Love™ is what morally bankrupt gurus use to lead you into their theft-generated cabal. They soothe you with the sound of it, repeat it like a brain-numbing mantra, then enforce it with guns and clubs.

Love™ is the current quicksand where our government leads us. Lemmings to a cliff? Nothing so dramatic.   Their Love™ will suck you down into ground you thought was solid. Sorry- the former bedrock of your success, of this country's rise to a freedom envied and hated by the rest of the world (because they can't/won't do it), has been made porous and weak with Love™.

If you really love your fellow man, leave the leeches in their ponds and cesspools rather than drag them into the homes of everyone where they can feed off everyone. If you really love your fellow man, protect his/her right to make an income, to live in freedom, to give to whomever they wish according to their values and ethics.

All you need is love.   And a job. And a work ethic. And the wilingness to do what it takes to succeed. And the self-discipline to not put yourself into stupid-ass situations.   And the ability to pass on this morally decent attitude to your children.

And all you should despise and resist, is Love™. Don't let idiots hit your emotional triggers with their Love™.   Because, Love™ is only the ability to control your pocketbook, and your future. That's all these looters want. All THEY need is Love™, because they won't work for themselves.

The "article" is called "'Giant Pool of Money' Morgage Crisis Follow Up."   It's a "where are they now" follow-up to some people that "This American Life" and NPR interviewed back in May 2008.

One of the reporters, Adam Davidson, says "For me, Clarence Nathan embodies the sub-prime mortgage crisis."

I couldn't agree more.

See, according to the story, Clarence didn't make a lot of money working 3 part-time jobs when he applied for a $540,000 home loan.   No, that's not a typo. Clarence had 3 part-time jobs, he didn't make much at any of them, and HE applied for a $540,000 home loan.   In Clarence's own words, "Would you have loaned you the money? I wouldn't have loaned me the money. And uhm, nobody that I know would have loaned me the money."

But the bank did.

Oh, and it's better.   When the original interview was done almost a year-and-a-half ago, Clarence hadn't paid his mortgage in almost a year. So it was at least 2007 or earlier that Clarence got his HALF A MILLION DOLLARS.

Oh, but wait- it's the lenders fault. Remember? Nobody Clarence knows, except the bank, would have lent him that money.   AND, according to the story, "he was waiting for the lender to get in touch to let him know if he was going to lose the house or get a loan modification or what. He hadn't heard anything from anyone."   And a sweet kicker: "Nobody's made any efforts to negotiate it out."

That "nobody" obviously includes Clarence. He's still in the house. And still hasn't paid on his mortgage.

The "article" goes on to say that "This is surprisingly common, with so many people in default on their mortgages, the foreclosure system just can't keep up.   Just this week the Wall Street Journal reported that right now in the U.S. there are more than 200,000 people just like Clarence more than a year delinquent on their mortgages, yet the lender has not yet begun the foreclosure process."

Here's what the journalist chose not to ask:

1. Hey Clarence- why in the world did you apply for a $540,000 loan that you knew you couldn't pay?
2. Hey Clarence- what have YOU done to rectify the situation? What efforts have YOU made to contact your loan officer?
3. Hey Clarence- what the hell did you do with over HALF A MILLION DOLLARS?

Now for the conjecture on my part: I'll ask, and answer, those questions that NPR refused to pursue because, well, it's NPR. Only wealthy people do awful things.   So let me put on my Clarence hat and my reporter hat...and here we go.

Davidson: So Clarence, knowing that you couldn't in your wildest dreams actually make payments on a 540,000 dollar house loan- you do know that's to the effect of half a MILLION dollars, right?

Clarence: Yeah, big ol chunk of dough.

Davidson: Why did you go after this loan?

Clarence: Cause, like, they didn't say no.

Davidson: But why didn't YOU say no? If money was that easy for you to get, why didn't you shoot for a home you could actually afford?

Clarence: Well, you know, the bank didn't say no.

Davidson: I'm not asking about the bank, Clarence, I'm asking about you. Where is your responsibility for your own financial crisis?

Clarence: Hey, ya know, it's a really really nice house and, like, I could never afford this. But the bank said it was OK for me to take the loan.

Davidson: But you admitted that you wouldn't give yourself the loan if you had been the bank. Why do you say that?

Clarence: (chuckles) Cause man, I can't pay back that much.

Davidson:   So you accepted the loan you think the bank shouldn't have given you. Doesn't that make you out be a liar? Or at best, a serious jerk?

Clarence: Wait a second, I thought you was gonna' paint me like I'm the victim.

Davidson: You are a victim. But of your own stupidity.

Clarence: Hey man, what about the bank that gave me the loan?

Davidson: They have a toxic asset. They're hurting for business. They're idiots too. Does that somehow make you less responsible for your own actions?

Clarence: Now you just being ugly.   No need to blame me for what I chose to do. If I get a gun and bullets on credit, then blow my own brains out, it's the credit card that killed me.

Davidson: That doesn't make any sense whatsoever Clarence.

Clarence: Two plus two equals five, Winston. I rest my case.

Davidson: Ok, so we've established that you refuse to take any responsiblity for seeking out this huge loan that you knew, from the beginning, you couldn't pay back.   Now you say that the mortgage company hasn't contacted you in, what, almost two-and-a-half years of you not once paying your mortgage?

Clarence: Yeah, can you believe it? They're heartless, man. Just plain cruel. I don't know what's going to happen.

Davidson:   Don't you think what's going to happen is that you get tossed out of this house you can't afford?

Clarence: No.

Davidson:   But you said you wouldn't have given yourself the loan. So if you were the mortgage company, wouldn't you kick yourself out?

Clarence: Well, yeah, but that's different.

Davidson: How so?

Clarence: I ain't the one with all the money.

Davidson: So it would be ok for YOU to kick you out, but not for THEM to kick you out?

Clarence: That's right. If they kick me out, I'm homeless and a victim. But if I kick me out, I'm still rich so that's ok 'cause I don't want some bloodsuckin' leech stealing my money.

Davidson: Can you hear what you're saying?

Clarence:   Nah man, I don't listen to NPR. That (expletive) bores me, dude.

Davidson:   So you know you didn't deserve the loan, and you do deserve to be kicked out.

Clarence:   I plead the fifth.

Davidson: What did you do with all that money?

Clarence: Look around, stupid- I bought me a big-ass house!   Lookit that chandelier! Wooooohooo, I'm livin' large.

Davidson: But you haven't paid for it.

Clarence: Yeah I did- 540 large.

Davidson: It wasn't your money.

Clarence:   Was too. The bank gave it to me.

Davidson: Lent it.

Clarence:   Whatever.

Davidson:   And you knew you couldn't pay it back.

Clarence:   What's your point?

Davidson: My point is, you're a pathetic whiner who made his own bed and is complaining about sleeping in it. You're damn lucky to still be in this house at all and you act like the bank has been awful to you by not kicking your sorry ass out.   You're disgusting and deserve to live in a box in an alley. That's my point.

Clarence: Screw you. I'm going to Air America. They'll make me feel better about how lousy I've made my life. Later, (expletive).

Seems like a great question, doesn't it? I'm curious too. However, I know the answer that Mr. Hall of McClatchy News Service ignores.

Mr. Hall bemoans that other crises had names to blame. "Yet there's no such poster child for the Great Recession, as today's crisis is now called." He hints at a possible scapegoat/poster child/easy target: "Angelo Mozilo, the perma-tanned CEO of mortgage-lending giant Countrywide." I like that he includes "perma-tanned" because God knows that tanned people are inherantly evil.

And I absolutely LOVE this part: "Americans are angry because the suffering on Main Street is a spillover from the excessive risk taking and lavish compensation of executives who invested on behalf of the ultra-wealthy. Investors seeking outsized "alpha" returns turned to Wall Street, both seeking to make a short-term killing even if doing so eventually brought the near collapse of the financial system."

You know what the suffering on Main Street is from? It's from regular folks A) carrying too high an amount of debt, B) having too low an amount of savings, and C) expecting the stock market- which is nothing more than a high-stakes crap shoot- to take care of them when they retire.

But, you say, what about all those huge-bonus-reaping loser fatcats who drove companies into brick walls of deceptive practices? I reply, prosecute them! I didn't say they weren't guilty. But I DO say that Main Street's screw up is Main Street's fault.

What is debt? It's gambling that you'll have a job in the future to pay for money you don't have that you're spending now. And to get that money, you'll have to pay back MORE money than what you spent.

Why didn't Main Street maintain a safety cushion of money for bad times? Because Main Street wanted to pretend that there aren't ever any bad times. I mean, gosh- in five years your house "value" went up 40 percent! Let's get a heloc and spend that equity!! Well gang, "value" only means a general number dictated by the your market, a value you only yield when you actually sell the house. It's NOT money, and it's dictated by forces out of your control. So when you spend your equity, and you don't keep a capital reserve for possible bad times- you're gambling. As gamblers know, throwing kraps happens.

Why does Main Street depend on Wall Street to support it? Wall Street sells stocks. Stocks are corporate IOU's that don't have to be paid back if the corporation decides to go belly up. Welcome to another gamble. Is your future really worth putting all your eggs into this Las Vegas style seven-come-eleven basket? Or even HALF of your eggs? You should only gamble that without which you can still live.

Let's not forget the folks who got risky loans so they could afford the American Pipe Dream: Keeping Up With and Perhaps Beating The Joneses. Always a bigger house, always more. Was it corporate greed that made you lose the house, or was it your lack of preparedness, your gambling with what you make vs. what you spend, your willingness to go blindly where no man has spent before?

However did these folks get these loans? Because Big Government forced banks to make risky loans to individuals to whom they normally wouldn't because the American Dream shouldn't be based on being able to pay for it but on wanting it. Our liberal Democrats pushed, and the power-hungry Republicans didn't want tarnished images before elections, so they got in bed and said hurrah and MADE banks give loans to folks who shouldn't have gotten them. And those folks, they bet with their ARM's that things were just peachy. And when the walls fell down on this outhouse they were caught pants down on the pot.

Believe me- I'm no fan of huge corporations, nor the Fed. How a corporation can have the same rights as human beings completely eludes me. How the Fed can *poof* create money from nothing- THEN START CHARGING US INTEREST AS IF WE BORROWED THAT MONEY FROM THEM- staggers the mind. There's so much power-struggle money-grabbing ugliness at the upper echelons- Big Corps, Big Fed, Big Gov- that I'm sick of the whole lot. But more laws means more sheets on the bed these three sleep in. I say, remove the laws that support the bastards- like the corp-as-human laws. Do that, and suddenly the owners of the corporation are RESPONSIBLE for the corporation. You'll see a whole friggin' different class of CEO's and board members step up to that plate- and they might just be worth the bonuses if they're held accountable for the failures (unlike now).

So, to answer Mr. Hall's question "Why haven't any Wall Street tycoons been sent to the slammer?", I say it's because most of them didn't do anything wrong. Big Government has laws that help them not do anything wrong. They may do things poorly, but since corporations are humans- you have to blame the corporation. And Big Government helped force banks create the loans that became toxic, the very loans that inflated the housing bubble, and also were the camouflaged needle that popped the balloon and sent our economy spiralling downward.

Main Street- shame on you. On me. On us. You were responsible for your own actions. Quit pretending to be a victim of the table when you're the one throwing the dice.

I'm pretty much done talking with Obama supporters. It's not a political party, it's not a mass of logical, conscious people seeking a reality-based thought process.

It's a religion. Obama is the leader of a belief system based on a sole principal: Trust Me, I'm Barack Obama.

I used to rankle at the barbs thrown at Obama like "the Messiah" and "the Chosen One." They came out so fast during the presidential campaign, I figured they were mean spirited and trite and baseless insults by people with little else to say.

Uhm...I was wrong. Unlike Obama supporters, I can actually say that. Out loud. Where people with whom I disagree can actually know it. I was wrong to say those barbs were baseless. Or even trite. The jury is still out on the mean-spirited part.

Why I say "You Win" to the Obamons: I don't agree with the Socialist agenda our president has put forth. However, philosophy of freedom aside, I've been looking at the numbers the Democratic party (are they a spin off religion of Obamianity, or vice-versa?) puts out about how "bad" the United States "health care system" is. These numbers are regurgitated by liberal pundits (Read, MSNBC) who rail on conservatives using these numbers.

I posted that link, along with the MSNBC pundit link, elsewhere. A friend of mine, liberal to the core took that MSNBC link, and in a post thanked me for it and repeated it. Ooops- she forgot to put the Cato link. I called her on it twice, then she deleted the post and sent me an email that she did not, in fact, forget it, and that she at least has the decency to respect my opinion and doesn't feel the need to post the other part. I replied that I appreciate her honesty, but the Cato report is based on fact, unlike the MSNBC report, and ergo not an opinion. I also asked her, point blank, to point out where I'm wrong so I can learn.

That did not go over well with her. To condense her reply, she basically said: You can't tell me I'm wrong, you aren't anyone to say what truth is, you're rude.

She's partly right. I am occasionally rude. I grant her that. She's not stupid by any stretch of the word. I'm an outsider in pretty much any group. I have very few close friends, because very few people can stand me for extended lengths of time. And to be honest, I trust very few people with my innermost thoughts and feelings. We all have our burdens, so be it. Enough about me. Let's get back to the health welfare program.

Here's what our e-conversation opened up in my mind: in this country right now, facts don't matter. It's what you WANT to believe. Obama's/the Democrats'/the Socialists' health welfare bills don't make sense. THEY DON'T HAVE TO. Liberals/Democrats/Socialists (Libsociocrats?) believe they can achieve a higher consciousness- and you will too with their the gun pointed at your head- by stealing part of your income and giving it to people who didn't earn it. See? Theft is charity as long as it's not given to you. By you, I mean someone paying their own way through life.

You cannot win against a larger horde who refuses to think, who'll believe anything as long as they get told how wonderful and enlightened they are, and are worshipping a leader who understands this kind of power, how to grow it, and is unabashed at using it

In other words, they win. And they lose.

Their system will require more and more money to pay for all the freebies, all the showers of blessings from the White Vatican in Washington DC. With the martyr St. Kennedy to pray to for protection, the members of Our Man of the Blessed Giveaway Church will march forward and put the yoke on the able to pull along the unable.

Pray, oh members of the Obama religion, pray long and hard that those with ability, those with discipline, those who think logically and live that way, pray to your Obamian gods that these people don't stop producing. If they do, from whom will you steal your loaves and fishes? From each other. Where will your annointed leaders be?

In their big houses, living nicely on their carbon credits, their money safely locked away from you.

I wish my friend well. I wish she'd wake up to facts rather than opinions. I wish I could say "you're wrong, and here's why" and she could say "you're wrong and here's why" and PROVE me wrong using facts. But she can't operate that way, and unless we're talking pure metaphysics, then I need rational arguments grounded in fact, not conjecture founded in ambiguity.

She has opened my eyes to what I think is a scary cult: the liberal for whom nobody, and I mean NOBODY, tells them can't believe in lies. Not even the truth can tell them that.

Perhaps I can relate on one point: I believe she's smarter. I hope someday she'll prove me right.

Dumb and AMAZINGLY Dumber

I keep reading a defense of Obama's socialist agenda and outrageous spending tactics as this:

1. Well, Bush kept medicare and medicaid and they're socialist so you're a hypocrite!!

2. Well, Bush spent a whole lot of deficit money so where was your outrage then??

Let's take a peek at what these arguments really say about the people who propose them.

Argument 1: Does the proposer of this understand what "compromise" is? Apparently, if you don't get all you want, you don't win. Some is never good enough with this kind of an individual. In a way, I wholeheartedly agree; ergo, according to the proposer, I should have fought to completely get rid of the whole thing. No half way, no give and take, no trying to live together- screw that. You better give this liberal all they want, or you're just a hypocrite.

That's the liberal way. They want all YOUR concession. See, a true liberal knows what's best for everyone else, and requires that you give them money. There is no self-control, no self-responsibility, nope- just the plunder of other people's money. And if you give a little, you're nothing but a hypocrite. In a sense, I agree. I would really love to give nothing at all to these idiots, so that I could give that kind of money to people I think are worth the effort. But, sadly, that's not the way Big Government works. I'm not allowed the true freedom of distributing the fruits of my labor as I see fit. Big Government steals some from us to give to folks who didn't earn it. The difference between Bush and Obama, is that Obama wants to steal even more. A LOT more.

Change? Oh you bet- the change from the frying pan to the fire.

Argument 2: I was outraged then. It's insane that our government can't balance a budget. It used to be a law- but Bush found ways to skirt it, and congress, and all our so-called "leaders." Panderers is what they've become. And now, we've got Obama tripling that deficit. WHAT? It's not that I wasn't outraged then- it's that I'm THREE TIMES AS OUTRAGED NOW. But liberals don't want to pay attention to the fact that their socialist leader is promising them the moon while tying chains to their backs.

Here's the deal, for you real thinkers who don't just swallow whichever glass of cool-aid is handed to you:

1. No system functions perfectly. The reason is because people are involved, and every single one of us is completely imperfect. Totally lacking in the absolute perfection department. Not to mention the measure of "perfection" is a subjective element based upon a person's judgement and ergo imperfect from the get go.
2. Socialism does not cure a society's "ills." There will ALWAYS be ills. Only morons think ALL people can be made better by stealing more money from other people. We are humans, we have problems, and no amount of money will cure a percentage of the population's personal demons. Sorry. Learn to do something else that makes you feel like you're a better person, other than stealing and giving to others.
3. You want to lower health care costs? Exercise. Eat better. Change YOUR habits. Stop worrying about every other Tom, Dickhead, and Harriet, and pay attention to YOU. Control YOURSELF. Do that, and the world will be a better place. You'll even be a better person.

I would be glad to give a person who is self-responsible a hand up. They're my heroes. But people who blame everyone and everything else for their problems- guess what? No amount of some other person's money will buy a different view in the mirror.

I was up for quite some time last night thinking about this government insurance bill debate. The discussion about the issue is definitely heated, because the fundamental ideas behind the issue are huge and resonate deep inside all of us, no matter what "side" of the issue you take. This is REAL stuff. And it's BIG.

What I realized last night, as we all comb sources for information that supports our core beliefs, and as we listen to inflammatory pundits who Blah Blah Blah their way into their next media paycheck...or their next Congressional paycheck...where are the IDEAS? Where the heck are the "alternatives"?

Insert cricket chirp sound effect here.

So, instead of going over this current bill and all it's implications, here's my bright idea. Feel free to bash it, so I can hone it for my 2012 Presidential Bid :).

AT THE CORE: The new government insurance bill, as it stands, wants to cover people who can't afford insurance, with tax dollars. That's basically it in a nutshell.

MY CORE PROBLEM WITH THAT: It's a new charity that I'm forced to donate to. There's more to my problem with it, but I might get into blah blah blah territory, so that's really it.

TA-DA: PRESIDENT MARK'S CURE: It's a multistep cure. Bear with me a moment:

1. I want to pare down the federal government. All these government charities that have nothing to do with infrastructure and protection I would hack and slash.

2. Good-bye IRS. I would create a flat tax, one that is MUCH SMALLER than the current taxes (see step 1). I WOULD REMOVE ALL THESE CRAZY RULES AND LOOPHOLES. No more write-offs, no more exceptions for your interest paid on a loan so that the Gov pays a frigging bank for you. Pay your tax- it provides for infrastructure and protection. I would have a cut off for paying taxes at all for the elderly above a certain age, and for the "poverty line". The same goes for business- no more writing off what you bought this year, no more playing games. Here's the tax on your gross. Period.

3. Social Security goes away. It becomes a TRULY voluntary system of saving, where you can sign up if you want, and what you save is what you'll have at retirement. The gov would be legally barred from "borrowing" from it. Never again would this fund be used for anything else than earning for it's users and re-disbursement to it's users. HOWEVER- it wouldn't be a "paying until you die" deal. It would be more like how "CD's" work. A compound interest would be created, earned by taking approximately 10% of the fund and "loaning" it to qualified borrowers. 1/2 (or more) of the interest earned on those loans would go back into the fund and be disbursed among the users. Doesn't sound that great, does it? The only plus side, is that my plan would guarantee that the amount was never ever less than you put in, and was guaranteed in toto by the Fed Gov. Basically, the world's most secure savings account. If you want to gamble your future in Wall Vegas, go for it. With my lower taxes, you'll have that money to see if stocks- a gamble- will give you a royal flush, or end up flushing your future. Which leads us to...

4. The cure to the health charity: Since the Federal Gov would no longer be an enforced charity procurement center, I would instead ALLOW YOU TO DONATE ALL YOU WANT OUT OF YOUR PAYCHECK WITH PRE-TAX DOLLARS. And- here's the kicker- I would ALLOW YOU TO CHOOSE YOUR CHARITIES. The government list would be people-oriented. Sorry- no animal-based charities. But, if you want to give to medical funds, or children's funds, etc. etc., and you would like the Fed Gov to do it for you with PRE-TAX DOLLARS so that your dollar's impact goes further...groovy. You pick them, the Fed Gov distributes for you, and you can feel good about where your money has gone.

Let's see, one group says: "These protests are put on by Big drug companies."

The other group says: "These town hall meetings are rigged to just show support, not actually have a dialogue."

Gather information. Don't listen to some reporters opinion- whether from Fox News or CNN. Rather, check a lot of sources- even ones from sites with which you don't agree (you know, the "them" that your side talks about).

We're getting crazy because of media spin and, to be blunt, bullsh*t put out by "The Left" and "The Right." This is what politicians love- drama, so they can spin spin spin the facts and the emotions of US Citizens in favor of their purported cause(s).

Think first. Act afterward. But for the love of your fellow man, please THINK about the situation, who's pulling what strings, and always pick through anything that your politicians feed you. There's food in that serving...but also sharp bones and occasionally poison.

PERSONAL NOTE: I watched parts of the raw video, but couldn't bear sitting through the whole thing. The protesters inside the hall were so rude they wouldn't let U.S. Rep Kathy Castor speak. They were so ready to shout, they just let'r'rip without any common courtesy. I believe in my fellow man- and I 100% believe we can be better than this! What an awful scene that did the protestors a huge disservice to their message.

Currently circulating on facebook (http://www.facebook.com/democrats) is a 5 point diatribe titled: "Please share with your friends: 5 facts about the anti-reform mobs." The diatribe boils down to this: "The protestors against the health bill at town hall meetings are just paid-for goons put to it by the rich insurance companies."

The post list 5 "Facts". Let's go over each of those "Facts." I'll quote directly from that page so that each "Fact" is stated just as written.

These disruptions are being funded and organized by out-of-district special-interest groups and insurance companies who fear that health insurance reform could help Americans, but hurt their bottom line. A group run by the same folks who made the "Swiftboat" ads against John Kerry is compiling a list of congressional events in August to disrupt. An insurance company coalition has stationed employees in 30 states to track where local lawmakers hold town-hall meetings.

A. Which groups/companies? Is even ONE named? Nope- ergo, that's not a fact. It's actually devoid of, well, fact.

B. The "group" that made the "Swiftboat" ads? That would be Swift Vets and POWs for Truth. Strangely, they haven't existed for over a year. "Swift Vets and POWs for Truth has formally disbanded and ceased all operations as of May 31, 2008." This is on their official website.

C. "An insurance company coalition". What is the name of this nefarious coalition? 2. People are scared because they are being fed frightening lies. These crowds are being riled up by anti-reform lies being spread by industry front groups that invent smears to tarnish the President's plan and scare voters. But as the President has repeatedly said, health insurance reform will create more health care choices for the American ... Read Morepeople, not reduce them. If you like your insurance or your doctor, you can keep them, and there is no "government takeover" in any part of any plan supported by the President or Congress.

A) I'll grant the point that we are all being fed a lot of frightening lies. HOWEVER- the writer didn't have the gumption to list ANY of those lies. OH- and didn't have the willingness to list lies that AGREE with their position. Here's one of the "lies" that get enlisted to support this bill: "The life expenency of Americans is shorter, and we need to FIX healthcare!" Right...and wrong. The life expectancy IS shorter than some other countries- but WHY?

Because Americans are fatter than almost all other nations. We are the #1 country for obesity. I'm fat, too. Fact is, around 30% of Americans are obese, and what does that cause? As the CDC states, "Research has shown that as weight increases to reach the levels referred to as "overweight" and "obesity,"* the risks for the following conditions also increases:¹

Coronary heart disease
Type 2 diabetes
Cancers (endometrial, breast, and colon)
Hypertension (high blood pressure)
Dyslipidemia (for example, high total cholesterol or high levels of triglycerides)
Stroke
Liver and Gallbladder disease
Sleep apnea and respiratory problems
Osteoarthritis (a degeneration of cartilage and its underlying bone within a joint)
Gynecological problems (abnormal menses, infertility)

3. Their actions are getting more extreme. Texas protesters brought signs displaying a tombstone for Rep. Lloyd Doggett and using the "SS" symbol to compare President Obama's policies to Nazism. Maryland Rep. Frank Kratovil was hanged in effigy outside his district office. Rep. Tim Bishop of New York had to be escorted to his car by police after an angry few disrupted his town hall meeting -- and more examples like this come in every day. And they have gone beyond just trying to derail the President's health insurance reform plans, they are trying to "break" the President himself and ruin his Presidency.

Where did this 5-point senselessness come from? It's takend from "Healthcare for America Now", a "national grassroots campaign of more than 1,000 organizations ". Wow. That's kind of like...a coalition. And what does this coalition want to do? "We are building a national movement to win comprehensive health care reform by helping mobilize people in their communities to lobby their U.S. Senators and Representatives in Congress to stand up to the insurance companies and other special interest groups to achieve quality, affordable health care in 2009." OH- so they're mobilizing people, telling them on their website what to do, how to do it, all for their own agenda.

Do your homework. Think it through. Ask questions. Don't take repetition as truth. You are a smart, thinking American with information at your fingertips. Let's see- today, I'm going to spend several hours of my life here at work, in exchange for money. That's what my paycheck is- not "money." It's my friggin' life, translated into compensation.

I hope people who feel entitled to part of my income understand that they're not "soaking the rich" (which I am not in any way). They want to steal hours of my life. They feel they're entitled to what I've paid for with my heartbeat, because they don't have it. That is their claim.

I deny them that claim.

"To each according to his/her need, from each according to his/her ability." This is one of the most horrendous lies foisted upon humanity. It states: do not reward merit, reward inability. Do not reward hard work, reward sloth. Do not reward genius, reward mundaity. Do not reward prowess, reward patheticness. Do not reward moral victory, reward unresponsibility.

To force someone to work, then take the fruits of their labors from them and only allow them to live at a level the whipholder decides: that's Socialism. It's also slavery.

I will fight the forces that wish to savage those with ability, and distribute the hours of their life- the fruit of their efforts- to those who did not earn it.

You face a choice: let the government steal the lives of others and give to you. That makes you a thief. It also allows the government to do the same to you. Socialism is the least of our society deciding how well you should live- not your work nor your values. Choose which value is better- to steal from others, or to make your own way. It will expose the content of your character.

Everybody Loves Payment: Insurance Ensured to Get $$

Insurance companies are fighting against the government creating its own deficit-funded, no-holds-barred Big Government Insurance Company.

They should It's a totally incomplete playing field. The government will have unlimited resources (your and my income, along with that of generations to follow), plus they'll have a company that plays totally across state lines- a way in which regular insurance companies aren't allowed to compete.

According to that article, it's Government Regulation that's part of the PROBLEM, not the solution. "A health policy for a single Pennsylvanian costs roughly $1,500 annually. Cross the Delaware into New Jersey...a similar health plan costs about $4,000, thanks to government regulations."

Much like Obama's "cure the defecit by tripling it" mentality, this Democratic led administration wants to create more competition by being uncompetitive, and helps us all get healthcare by not allowing all healthcare available.
